Yoga Is -- For Emotionally Mature Audiences Only
In this lifetime we will all be challenged and there will be times we feel like closing down or running away from people.
It takes a great deal of emotional maturity (which doesn't necessarily come with the aging process), to keep one's heart open rather than succumb to our instinctual fight or flight nature.
Compassion and awareness are only learned with observation and self reflection. Wisdom is only gained through experience.
We can begin our introspective journey by taking responsibility for our feelings and asking ourselves "how do I suffer?" "What stimulates my pain."
If we don't ask these questions we may never know the answers and if we don't know, then who does?
In this interview, Desiree and Suzanne discuss six steps anyone can take to greater emotional maturity.

Awakening Bhakti Workshop: A Celebration of Divine and Human Love
Bhakti Yoga is the path of personal relationship with Spirit, with God, with Goddess; a relationship that includes all the flavors and moods of the human heart. In the journey of Bhakti our emotions become the fuel to reconnect us with the Divine and to find healing and wholeness within us. Through singing Kirtan we explore, express and share the deepest caverns of our souls and ultimately find the eternal spring of love.
For everyone who loves and practices Kirtan; or chanting the ecstatic songs of ancient India, Jai will share and demystify some of their secrets particularly the 'fact' that with just a little understanding of music and rhythm and a lot of self acceptance we all can sing and lead and share our hearts with others. The practice of chanting, itself, can become our teacher, guiding us home.
Jai Uttal, a Grammy nominated sacred music composer, recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, and ecstatic vocalist, combines influences from India with influences from American rock and jazz, creating a stimulating and exotic multi-cultural fusion that is truly world spirit music. Having traveled extensively in India, where he met many beautiful saints and singers, Bhakti yoga became his personal path. Jai has been leading kirtans around the world for more than 30 years, creating a safe environment for people to open their hearts and voices.
In 2014 Jai released two new albums, "Return to Shiva Station: Kailash Connection," a wholly new re-envisioning of his groundbreaking album "Shiva Station," and "Lifeline: The Essential Jai Uttal and Ben Leinbach Collection," an unfolding musical celebration of their decade of collaboration that reflects the myriad faces of kirtan and beyond.
Hanuman Flow | Leap of Faith
Against all odds and against his own sense of the impossibility of his task, Hanuman leapt all the way to Lanka to rescue Sita. Like Hanuman, we face trials and demands we think we can't possibly accomplish or overcome, yet with the power of devotion, with a leap of faith, we can do things we never thought possible. In this workshop, we'll test our limits, both on and off the mat, and see how a devoted and fearless heart can take us anywhere-even into hanumanasana.
